Private Guide

What does Private Guide mean?

Private Guide is almost like an all-inclusive guide service. I plan a day based on your hopes and dreams.

The starting point is that you are at Ivalo airport (or even Rovaniemi airpoirt), a hotel, or another accommodation. You are looking for something to do, but you don’t really know what to do. Or you might have an idea of what to do, but you don’t know how to make it happen. You don’t have a car, and you can’t get to where you want to go in flexible and easy way.

This is when I come into the picture.

I'll be private guide for your group. I'm ready to serve you from the early morning to the late evening as you wish. If you want to extend the evening into the night in hopes of seeing the Northern Lights, I'm more than happy to be available then as well.

I can be your driver, wilderness guide, tour leader, aurora hunter, chef, you name it. I make your dream come true while you can just relax and spend stress-free day.

Spend an unforgettable day while I guide you through the stunning Inari-Saariselkä region. From the crackling warmth of an open fire-cooked lunch to the thrill of adventure, I'm here to make your day truly awesome.

I can help you to enjoy the local activities like ice karting and visiting husky or reindeer farm. I can also take you to experience a local way of exploring the wilderness with a snowmobile and sled. If something is mind relaxing and soul healing, that is. I know because we do this every winter on our days off.

Example days with private guide in winter
Full Day example 1

Morning:

Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM when I pick you up from your accommodation. We'll start the day with a scenic drive through the beautiful Lappish landscape to Inari, heading towards our first activity.

Around 10:00 AM, we arrive at the starting point for a short guided hiking tour. We trek through the old, beautiful and snowy Lappish forest and after 15 minutes we reach our destination where you see the mighty Inari Lake behind the hills.

Lunchtime:

By noon, we'll go a picturesque spot by a rapid with a fireplace. I’ll prepare a traditional Lappish meal, giving you a taste of the local cuisine while you relax and admire the stunning surroundings.

Afternoon:

After lunch, we head to Siida, the Sámi Museum and Nature Center, which features exhibitions on Sámi culture and the northern nature. You can easily spend several hours here exploring the rich cultural and natural history of the region.

Late afternoon:

Around 4:00 pm we head back to Ivalo and take a break. I can take you to the restaurant of your choice or you can cook your own dinner if you prefer.

Evening:

After dinner, around 6:00 PM, we prepare for a snowmobile adventure. We’ll dress warmly and you can enjoy the ride in a sleigh as I drive you deep into the wilderness. We'll light a campfire and spend some peaceful time there, having dinner by the fire.

Depending on your preference, we can either stay in the wilderness waiting for the Northern Lights or head back to Ivalo and continue our Aurora hunting from the warmth of the car.

Night:

By 12:00 PM, I’ll drive you back to your accommodation, ensuring you have time to rest and reflect the amazing experiences of the day. If the sky is cloudy and northern lights are invisible, we naturally shorten the day so are that you arrive your accomodation at the least 10 pm.

Full Day Example 2

Morning:

The day starts 9:00. I'll pick up you from your accommodation. We drive to Inari and visit The Sámi Museum and Nature Center, Siida. There you can get to know Lappish nature and

Sámi culture at your own pace. We can have a lunch during the exhibition or after that in the Restaurant Sarrit which is located inside Siida.

Afternoon:

After Siida visit, we drive to Saariselkä and take downhill skis or snowboards and hit the slopes for some downhill fun. If that’s too much for you, instead, we’ll enjoy a thrilling ride (or two or three) down the long toboggan run from the top of Kaunispää. After you get enough of that, we'll have relaxing walking trip on Aurora Trail.

Late afternoon:

We Finnish eat dinner around 5 pm. That's when I make a open-fire dinner to you from local cuisine.

Evening:

After dinner, it's time to rest and head back to your accommodation.

If you can’t sit still, we can take a tour to the center of Inari municipality, the town of Ivalo.

Night:

When it's time for northern lights, we go outside to see them. If the location is not good for watching northern lights, I'll drive you to the best spots to see them.

These are just couple examples of the day you can spend. Options are almost unlimited.

Join me for an unforgettable day in Northern Lapland, filled with adventure, breathtaking scenery, and unique experiences.
